14th Annual Pottstown Polar Bear Plunge

Register beginning at 9:30 AM to take the frigid plunge into the waters of the Schuylkill River. Rescue divers are on-hand to provide safety.

The bonfire will start at 10 AM for spectators, and the plunge takes place promptly at 10:30 AM for registered participants. Swimmers are advised to wear “creek shoes / old sneakers.” After the plunge, warm up by the fire and grab a pork hotdog with sauerkraut for good luck.

Proceeds from food sales benefit Pottstown Parks and Recreation. There is no fee to take the plunge, but you must complete a waiver on-site in order to participate. Adult consent require for participants between the ages of 16 and 18.

Spectators of all ages welcome. Enjoy a brisk morning in scenic Riverfront Park to connect with the community and ring in a brand-spanking-new year.
